Dollars to Doors

Dec 12, 2019

Often these are Magical times, where families and friends get together for laughter, food, and fellowship. For some its also a tough time as its a reminder of a lost loved one, lack of a family, a friend , or a relationship/etc.

The holidays can be joyous, but also very challenging. Some may tend to take time off, which can lead to a decrease in production, sales, or whatever their job function is.

How do we balance this time? How can we do it all? While there isnt one clear answer, I hope this helps you a little.

Go back to Episode # 2 entitled “ What drives Us” take a listen then write down, your purpose! _______________ Got it? Good!

Now we are going to build from that. We are going to keep that in the forefront of our minds as we plan this holiday season. Ok, ready? Lets go!

Whats coming up? Kids or grandkids out of school? What traditions do you have with them? Lets plan those now! What is on the food and gift list? Lets get those bought/ built/ ordered now. What day will the family get together? Let’s schedule it.

While this is just a small example, I hope you get the picture. No matter what it is at the holidays that you plan, family time, that trip, maybe it’s just time alone to reflect on the past year and plan the next. Whatever it is let’s focus on planning that time and managing our highs and lows.

Take a little time and think about what the holidays mean to you. Go ahead write a few things down. That’s probably your intent for your holiday season. For me it’s family time, mixed with friends, time reflecting on the past year, but  more time focused on the future! I’m personally not one for New Year’s resolutions, but I am big on goal setting. I totally believe that when you have a big purpose in life, life is a little Focused driven and sometimes the small problems don’t matter as much.

For Christians this is the time to recognize Jesus birth and it’s an exciting time . People decorate their homes and businesses with trees, wreaths and bows. It’s a great time for hot cocoa in front of the fireplace. Whatever drives you during the holidays, I want to make that your focus.
